Job Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician who will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. This role requires a proactive individual who can interpret technical manuals and schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and understand manufacturer equipment manuals and electronic and electrical schematic diagrams.

  • Perform preventive maintenance as assigned and generate necessary paperwork, such as PM sheets, work orders, and work record logs.

  • Conduct equipment repairs and daily work within OSHA regulations, following lockout-tagout and company safety guidelines.

  • Inform maintenance and production supervisors of potential problems.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment, which may include self-contained breathing apparatus.

  • Move throughout assigned areas carrying required equipment and tools to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

  • Reach vertical heights up to 150 feet to perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and monitor equipment in both open and confined spaces.

  • Use protective and safety equipment as directed by the company and may need to climb ladders.

  • Utilize tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems throughout the plant and assist in maintaining electrical equipment through PM procedures.

  • Assist in instituting new control systems and research and develop better controls and electrical processes.

  • Track and monitor recurring problems and provide solutions to correct these issues.

  • Identify weaknesses in electrical systems and develop solutions.

  • Understand the function of electrical equipment and train operators and maintenance technicians on operations and troubleshooting.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance technician skills.

  • Mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics knowledge.

  • Wiring, repair, and preventive maintenance in an industrial environment.

  • Experience with schematics, blueprints, and PLC troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Industrial electrical experience in manufacturing/production settings.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Good problem-solving and basic math skills.

  • Ability to organize tasks and monitor work quality.

  • Ability to work with or near blood.

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehension.

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

The role requires accessing the poultry production environment, tolerating varying heat, wet, and chill conditions in the plant.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Staunton, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
