Head Women's Soccer Coach POSITION DETAILS The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a City University of New York (CUNY) senior College organized around two academic divisions and three schools, with over 10,000 students. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation, the Head Women?s Soccer Coach will be responsible for the guidance of the soccer program, which includes practice and game management, recruiting, budgeting, team travel and roster management. Administration, supervision, management, and staff selection for the women?s soccer program including, but not limited to, recruiting, roster management, scheduling, budgeting, game and travel management. Oversees the implementation of programs in the areas of scouting, strategy, recruitment, conditioning and player development to enhance athletic performance and achievement, coupled with a keen focus on academic excellence Coaching responsibilities to also include fund-raising initiatives and special event programming, such as sport specific camps and clinics and other related revenue generating events Performs all duties in compliance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the college and the ECC. Serves as a positive and professional role model and mentor to the student community, treating all people with dignity and respect; prevents harassment and discrimination by coaching staff and athletes and reports all breaches of ethical behavior. Secondary departmental responsibilities to be determined Other duties as Assigned by the Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required. Preferred: Four years of college, high school or club soccer coaching experience, with preference given to head coaching experience and those with prior athletic administrative experience (non-coaching). Experience in training and management of staff preferred. Experience in managing a program or organization USSF Certification - or equivalent CPR/AED certification is required (must be completed within three months of hire). A valid Driver's License Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary. CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Assists in developing and implementing varsity sport program(s) Recruits local and national high school and junior college players, participating in a variety of admissions events and networking with sources Prepares and conducts daily practice and game schedules Performs duties in compliance with NCAA rules and policies as well as College and University policy Supervises study activities for student-athletes and monitors academic progress reports Manages game activities such as setup and break down of facilities, greeting opposing teams and officials, and hiring staff Assists with planning, implementation, and evaluation of other programs and services for both varsity teams and the general student body.
