JR. SOUS CHEF (SUSHI)
SpaceX is looking for passionate, experienced individuals looking to join our culinary team! The Jr. Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary department by overseeing kitchen inventory, focusing on food preparation set up.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and monitor inventory levels and ingredients
Assist in establishing menu specifications
Maintain quality by ensuring products are prepared according to guidelines
Enforce food quality
Ensure the safety of the physical kitchen and café space
Assist with and distribute work schedules
Oversee front of house food preparation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of sous chef or culinary management experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Sushi kitchen experience
Degree in culinary arts
Portfolio of culinary experience showcasing sushi expertise
High volume production and catering experience
Proven ability to create innovative menus on a daily basis
Ability to perform under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Possess a creative spirit and ability to make the culinary experience part of the SpaceX culture
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Stand: Up to 10 hours per day
Sit: Up to 3 hours per day
Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
Lift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day
Kneel/Crouch: Up to 6 hours per day
Upper body twist: Up to 1 hour per day
Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 1 hour per day
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
