About the Unit/Department/Team Our Activities team plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Mission for Position The Activities Supervisor is responsible for leading a dynamic activities program that supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of each resident. This role ensures programming is individualized, compliant, and aligned with each resident's care plan, while fostering a collaborative and engaging environment for both residents and team members. Duties & Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of a comprehensive activities program Ensure activities align with each resident's individualized care plan through active participation in assessments and care planning Supervise, coach, and develop Activity Aides/Specialists, Enrichment Aides/Specialists, and Volunteers to ensure effective team management and high performance Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to support team growth and accountability Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment across departments including Dietary, Social Services, Maintenance, and Nursing Schedule, coordinate, and oversee daily individual and group activities to ensure consistent and meaningful engagement Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, including MDS, CAAs, and activity records Manage staff scheduling and ensure clear, timely communication of any changes Support and uphold departmental policies, procedures, and quality initiatives Attend and actively participate in care conferences and departmental meetings Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the aviary and other assigned program areas Position Type This is a full-time position working 80 hours per pay period. Qualifications Qualifications Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional, or Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a therapeutic activities program within the past five (5) years State certification or licensure by a recognized accrediting body or MEPAP Course 1 completed within first 90 days of employment and MEPAP Course 2 completed within 1 year of employment Completion of 12 CEUs annually (may include workshops or conferences) Ideal Candidate Strong computer skills and familiarity with activity programming and documentation systems Experience supervising, coordinating, or managing an activities program preferred Benefits Lakewood Health System is growing and looking for great people to join our mission of providing personalized, quality healthcare for a lifetime.
