JOB SUMMARY
The Irrigation Technician will aid in the installation and service of The Stansbury Service Agency's irrigation equipment. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Irrigation Technician will be responsible for mapping out irrigation areas, digging trenches, installing equipment, testing the system, and conducting regular maintenance checks. May also install and maintain electrical timer systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties:
- Inspect and load equipment for the day's work.
- Map out areas for irrigation installation and maintenance.
- Dig trenches and install pipes and lines.
- Install pumps and electrical timers.
- Test the irrigation system with the aid of computer software.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks.
- Troubleshoot and replace faulty parts.
- Complete progress reports and associated paperwork.
- May assist other departments as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment, snowplows, blowers, backhoes, or similar equipment as needed to perform the position's responsibilities or in emergencies.
- Other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge:
- Detailed knowledge of irrigation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, work orders, drawings, and diagrams as required to perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to operate various equipment, including hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery will be required.
- Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician.
- Knowledge of irrigation and electrical timer systems
- Knowledge of plumbing is preferred.
- Knowledge of soil, vegetation, and climate.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Moderately heavy physical activity. Required to push, pull, or lift medium to heavy weights. Difficult working positions, you may have to stand, walk, or sit in uncomfortable positions for extended periods and squat or crawl into small spaces. May work in trenches.
- High exposure to disagreeable elements such as dust, fumes, noise, dampness, cold, heat, chemicals, or grease. Exposure to outside weather conditions year-round.
- Considerable stress under emergency situations, time constraints, and possible injury and/or death. Variations of job duties due to service interruptions and construction may occur. Must be able to adapt quickly to diverse conditions and adjust job assignments requiring the operation of various facilities, equipment, and operations.
* WORK SCHEDULE*
- Work schedule from 7:00 am -- 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. May be required to work some evening, weekend, or holiday hours as needed.
