Job Title: Pump Mechanic Job Description
Join our service and assembly shop dedicated to building and assembling pumps. As a Pump Mechanic, you will craft unique pump systems based on work orders and blueprints. While your primary focus will be on assembly, you may occasionally repair and overhaul pumps brought in from the field.
Responsibilities
Build and assemble pumps using work orders and blueprints.
Fabricate internal components to customize pump configurations.
Read prints and use a forklift to gather necessary parts.
Fabricate and machine steel components for assembly.
Assemble pumps onto skid packages, paint them, and prepare for shipment.
Collaborate with engineers to provide feedback on pump packages.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Pump Mechanic in a pump shop.
Proficiency in assembling and repairing rotating equipment.
Blueprint reading skills.
Experience with calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, and laser alignments.
Basic manual machining skills for drilling and tapping.
Forklift operation proficiency.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to repair, refurbish, overhaul, and dismantle all types of pumps (vertical and horizontal).
Balancing bearings and working on seals and gaskets.
Heavy manual machining experience on a horizontal lathe and vertical mill.
MIG and stick welding experience for non-critical welds.
Painting skills.

Work Environment
Work in a medium-sized, air-conditioned shop with a small team. You will be part of a collaborative environment where everyone pitches in. The dress code includes safety glasses, work shirts, jeans, and steel-toed shoes. The day shift runs Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional late hours for urgent jobs. You can expect a consistent 40-hour work week, with rare instances of working more than 50 hours and almost no weekend work.

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
