Job Title: Pump Mechanic
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Pump Mechanic, where you will be responsible for servicing and repairing pumps and rotating equipment. You will work in the shop to recondition pumps from the field, utilizing blueprints and drawings. Your expertise will be essential in repairing, refurbishing, overhauling, and dismantling various types of pumps including split case, overhung, horizontal, and multistage pumps.
Responsibilities
Recondition pumps from the field using blueprints and drawings.
Repair, refurbish, overhaul, and dismantle various pump types.
Utilize scales, calipers, and other measuring instruments for precision work.
Perform alignments, boring, and assembly tasks.
Handle compressor, turbine, and mechanical repairs.
Work with API pumps and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Essential Skills
7+ years of experience as a Pump Mechanic in a pump shop.
Comprehensive knowledge of all types of pumps, including vertical and horizontal.
Proficiency in reading blueprints.
Experience with repair, refurbish, overhaul, and dismantle processes.
Familiarity with mechanical tools like micrometers, calipers, and more.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with multistage or horizontal pumps.
Skill in balancing bearings and working on seals and gaskets.
Manual machining experience with VTL Vertical Turret Lath or HBM Horizontal Boring Mill.
Capability to operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, acetylene torches, and more.
Welding experience, including MIG, TIG, and Heliarc.
Experience with Tier 1, 2, and 3 pumps.

Work Environment
Work in a medium-sized shop with ample business and parts around you. The shop is air-conditioned but currently tight on space. A move to a larger facility is anticipated between 2024 and 2025. Standard work attire includes steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The position operates on a day shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
