Division of Personnel Government of the VI Assistant Director of Licensing (DLCA-STT) in St Thomas, Virgin Islands
This is administrative work which involves the direction and coordination of the licensing program in the respective district. This work is conducted according to the goals and objectives of the agency/department head and the Director of the unit. The Assistant Director assists the Director with the administration of the territory's licensing program. He/she is expected to exercise a considerable degree of independence in the performance of duties. Work carries a high degree of responsibility and accountability and must be performed with accuracy and precision. Duties and Responsibilities: Communicates with clients to resolve issues and ensure efficient, positive and lawful expeditions handling of licensing activities. Supervises and directs the affairs of the licensing Division. Assigns monitors and reviews the work of the Licensing Officers and Collection Clerks. Sets priorities and programs in order to accomplish department goals and objectives. Assists the Director in administering the territory's licensing programs which is responsible for implementing and establishing licensing policies. Approves the necessary documentations and forms used for the efficient and lawful execution of all licensing activities. Recommends new licensing categories as required. Confers with external agencies and authorities when required to ensure the efficient coordination of the approval process. Assists the Director with preparing and submitting required information for inclusion into the annual budget. Manages divisional performance against agreed targets and budgets with relations to policies and standards. Prepares monthly reports and other reports when required by the Director. Prepares responses to legislative inquiries and freedom of information act request. Monitors measures and reports on the movement of local and foreign alcohol products into and out of the islands in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and in compliance with relevant local and federal laws and procedures. Performs other related duties as required
