Division of Personnel Government of the VI ACCOUNTING ANALYST (DOF - STT) in St Thomas, Virgin Islands
This is non-supervisory technical work which involves the examination, approval and processingof vendor/individual invoices, Government Travel Regulations (GTR), inter-island traveland travel reimbursements from all Executive Governmental agencies for the purpose of the processing of payments to vendors and other persons. The work is recurring in nature and is performed under general supervision. Approval, guidance or assistance is needed only on any deviation from previously established Accounts Payable policies/procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: DUTIES (NOT ALL INCVLUSIVE): - Checks batches upon receipt from all Executive Governmental agencies by accessing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Accounts Payable module to verify that correct invoice(s) with correct invoice date, invoice number and remit address have been entered by the department/agency. - Checks for validity of contracts as needed, for terms (start and end date), scope of work and authorized signatures to prevent improper payments. - Verifies the dates to make sure the correct amount of per diem is applied based on overnight stay for out of territory travel. - Verifies that the (GTR) is signed by the head of the department/agency and the Governor, along with a signed letter by the Governor, approving the travel. - Checks to make sure that the correct expense object is used, the organization code matches the organization code on the GTR, and that the amount on the GTR matches the payment requested. - For local travel, ensures that the inter-island travel request, or memo approved by an authorized personnel is attached, along with the other check points stated above for out of state travel. - Checks all payment request documents for correct expense account codes, receipt of purchase, invoice number, invoice date, invoice received data, etc. - Performs other related work as required, such as daily check run of invoices processed.
