TEKsystems Desktop Support Technician in St. Petersburg, Florida
DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIANS NEEDED
We're seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to provide both remote and onsite technical support for on-domain and off-domain users. This is a contract-only role that requires candidates to be local to the Greater Tampa Bay area.
Work Model
Hybrid: Minimum of 11 days per month onsite (policy strictly enforced).
Training: First week is fully onsite (no remote days).
Contractors will be issued company laptops/assets for the duration of the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver advanced support for hardware, software, and end-user technologies via phone, remote tools, and onsite visits.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support COTS and proprietary applications.
Use tools including ServiceNow, GoToAssist, Chrome, Office 365/Exchange Online, VPNs (F5, GlobalProtect), and internal software.
Perform PC setups, replacements, imaging, software installations, data backups/restores, and new associate onboarding.
Provide hardware break-fix support, including coordination of HP warranty replacements.
Monitor and manage incidents/requests within the call tracking system; document all work thoroughly.
Communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical users.
Contribute to knowledge base documentation and assist with testing new releases or enhancements.
Participate in or lead small projects requiring collaboration across multiple teams.
What We’re Looking For
Strong technical troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and corporate applications.
Ability to interact professionally with internal customers and deliver high-quality support.
Experience working in fast-paced environments with ticketing systems and SLA expectations.
Local candidates available for the required hybrid schedule.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
