Minnesota Community Care Radiologic Technologist in St. Paul, Minnesota
Description
Perform routine radiographic procedures for diagnostic purposes. Serve as radiation safety officer for the organization. Assist with obstetric ultrasound as needed. Assist nursing staff by rooming patients, performing EKGs, spirometry, and other duties within training and scope of practice. Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms and equipment.

Provide radiologic services.
Explain the process to patients, align the patient, position the equipment, select the proper exposure factors and operate the equipment.
Monitor level of supplies and notify appropriate personnel of supply needs.
Maintain organizes x-ray files and records.
Maintain department cleanliness.
Assess need for equipment service, arrange for service, and maintain service records.
Update procedure manuals as needed.
Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual quality control testing required by the Minnesota Department of Health.
Set up and clean exam rooms.
Maintain data tracking systems for radiology services, including procedure trending and Images for a Cause.
Arrange referrals for advanced radiology services through Images for a Cause program, including the provision of language services as applicable.
Clean instruments.
Perform miscellaneous clerical duties for the lab.
Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room.
Verify patient information by interviewing the patient, reviews and/or records medical history, take and document vital signs, and confirm reason for visit
Document in electronic medical record in an accurate and confidential manner.
Set up and assist with diagnostic or therapeutic procedures by providing examination gown and drape for patient, helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment, and arrange examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment
Carry out provider orders within scope and training
Perform other duties as assigned based on training and scope
RSO RESPONSIBILITIES:
ensure that the facility meets federal, state and local standards for the scope of the practice of services by performing the following tasks:
Quality assurance program
Assure calibration test reports are scanned onto O: Drive folder.
Radiation Safety
Make sure x-ray tech are using ALARA principal when radiographing patients-biennially
Monitor lead aprons annually.
MDH registration annually
Equipment Visual inspection annually
Reject/Retake analysis
MDH sample audit annually
File dosimeter reports
Give annual report to employee
Request dosimeter report from new employees
Train new employees
Have new employees fill out, date, and sign training documents
File them in RSO binder
Ensure credentials are on record for anyone that works/Cover in X-ray Department
File copy of credentials in RSO binder

Work Environment
Primary environment is home office, administrative office, or clinical office. This role requires regular walking. This role may come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirements
Must have the ability to travel between MCC sites in the St. Paul/Minneapolis metro area.

Required Education and Experience
+ + Completion of an American Medical Association or equivalent approved program in Radiologic Technology
Must be eligible and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Equivalent
At least one-year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
