MMCAP is a national cooperative group purchasing organization (GPO) for government healthcare facilities. MMCAP was established in 1985 and has over 30,000 member facilities across all 50 states. MMCAP's primary function is to provide a full range of pharmaceuticals to its participating facilities in these four (4) classes of trade: Corrections, Mental Health, Public Health, and Student Health. It also has contracts for vials and containers, medical supplies, drug testing, returned goods processing, influenza vaccine, dental products and services, and dozens of other lines of business where the list continues to grow. Use of MMCAP is free for our members and purchasing from our contracts is voluntary.
MMCAP is operated within the State of Minnesota, Office of State Procurement (OSP). The mission of MMCAP is to ensure best value for pharmaceuticals and healthcare products and services to government facilities across the nation through executing contracts that leverage aggregated member volume to drive deeper discounts. We are seeking a Pharmacy Program Analyst to:
Manage and update pharmaceutical prices and product changes to ensure MMCAP members have accurate product information.
Continually review and analyze existing contracts and usage data from internal and external sources.
Perform research and analysis to provide MMCAP members with best value in purchasing pharmaceutical products.
Develop and coordinate MMCAP's internal pharmaceutical products and price auditing programs to ensure program accuracy and meet GPO industry quality assurance expectations.
Support clinical pharmacy consulting services provided by MMCAP to its members.
This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework arrangement, additional onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position.
Two (2) years of experience working for a pharmacy benefit management company, health insurance company handling pharmacy claims, pharmaceutical wholesaler or GPO, or any organization where pharmaceutical purchasing is/was a primary job duty.
Strong research and analytical skills sufficient to identify and recommend solutions.
Working knowledge of statistical methods and related procedures to organize and conduct research projects.
Experience working with auditing programs, particularly with pharmaceuticals.
Strong communication skills to deliver complete and accurate documentation and make presentations of the data analyses and project findings.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines, and demonstrated attention to details.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or certification (e.g., Pharmacy Technician license) demonstrating a deep understanding of pharmaceutical products.
Familiarity with the National Drug Code (NDC), pharmaceutical wholesale pricing strategies, and pharmacy contract pricing nomenclature.
Ability to independently determine good contracts and sources.
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills and analyze complex information and issues sufficiently to identify and recommend solutions.
Exceptional human relations skills to provide customer support to an array of MMCAP stakeholders, partners, and customers.
