This position serves our partners at Minnesota’s largest state agency, the Department of Human Services (DHS). The MNIT DHS team supports complex and varied technical needs, including systems that provide health care coverage, deliver child protection and welfare services, and provide support for Minnesotans with special needs including mental illness, chemical dependencies, and physical or developmental disabilities.
As the MN-ITS System Administrator, you will provide consultation and technical advice to MNIT DHS Application Support Division production support teams and its customers in analysis of ongoing, emerging technology needs to meet the demands of a 24 x 7 x 365 real-time services, complex problem resolution. You will work closely with the Java and application developers to conduct the promotion of complex code from the development region to the production region. Additionally, you will be the technical lead and expert in the areas of application server, messaging servers, interfaces and server/network infrastructure provides consultative services to other technical staff, supervisor, and management. This position will be dedicated to the production to managing application server software and hardware environments within the MN-ITS and METS systems with a distinct focus on IBM WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere App Connect Enterprise, WebSphere Transformation Extender, Oracle Database, MQ, SFTP as well as the application server environment, Linux operating system.
This position requires rotating on-call weekend/night support .
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 540 Cedar St., St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT related experience installing, customizing, and testing applications in a middleware environment.
Experience must include:
Working with IBM Products, specifically WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and/or Message Queue (MQ).
Working with adapters and clients for MQ Series, WAS, Oracle Databases, IP socket, and HTTP connectors.
Troubleshooting and correcting transaction processing issues.
Working with Java applications and operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or other Linux variants.
Working with LAN communication protocols including FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTPS, SFTP, SSH, NTP, and TCP/IP.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; and an associate’s degree for six (6) months.

Strongly Preferred Qualification
Experience with IBM Products, specifically WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Business Automation Workflow (BAW), App Connect Enterprise (ACE), Message Queue (MQ), Managed File Transport (MFT), Information Transformation Extender (ITX).
Experience withHealthcare x.12 standards, data structures, translator mapping principals, and extensive EDI administration.
Experience using WebSphere Business Process Choreographer (WBPC).
