The Material Compliance Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust business processes that ensure compliance with national (US, Canada) and state/provincial product material compliance requirements and drive continuous improvement for a 285k item product portfolio. They will contribute to both the strategic and operational functions of the Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory Department.
Essential Functions
Develop, implement, and optimize compliance programs and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across business functions
Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor by providing guidance to internal partners on compliance requirements, emerging risks, and best practices
Monitor, interpret, and assess regulatory changes to determine business impact and lead the development and execution of response strategies
Collaborate cross functionally with business units, legal, audit, risk, and operational teams to ensure accurate documentation, effective controls, and timely remediation of compliance gaps
Manage compliance related data and reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely submission of required internal and external reports
Lead training, communications, and awareness initiatives to build organizational understanding of compliance obligations and promote a culture of compliance
Support internal audits, assessments, and investigations, and coordinate corrective actions to strengthen compliance controls and prevent recurrence
Use data analytics and compliance metrics to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend continuous improvements
May participate in or lead incident reviews and post issue analyses, coordinating with stakeholders to identify root causes and develop long term solutions
Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
Develop and implement processes to ensure products meet federal, state/provincial, and international product composition regulations, including TSCA, REACH, and California Proposition 65
Serve as the primary advisor on product hazard communication requirements, including oversight of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) creation and coordination with third party SDS vendors
Manage and maintain product chemical composition data and facilitate required regulatory reporting such as EPCRA Tier II, TSCA Section 8(a)(7), and PFAS related disclosures
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience
5 years relevant experience
Preferred Requirements
Master's Degree in a related field
Experience with data analytics, SQL querying, and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, industry standards, and risk management principles
Knowledge of compliance program design, monitoring, auditing, and reporting practices
Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) systems and data management practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and evaluate controls
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex requirements clearly to diverse audiences
Project management skills, including leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering results within deadlines
Proficiency in interpreting regulations and translating them into practical business processes
Ability to work independently while effectively influencing and partnering across business functions
Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions, and exercise professional judgment
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on execution
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity

Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Travel Requirements
- 5% This position requires minimal travel throughout the US and the potential for limited international travel. For this position, limited on-call is required for serious injury reporting.

$85,000-$106,800-$128,000

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.
$85,500.00 - $113,966.67
