The purpose of this position is to coordinate multiple ongoing regulatory functions and initiatives of PELSB including approval process and applications for educator preparation programs. The position will provide data- based research and policy analysis, facilitate strategic planning, collaboration, and outreach to community partners, including national organizations. Some of the job duties include:
Oversee the approval process for educator licensure programs, including both initial and continuing program applications across all program approval types.
Oversee the approval processes for teacher preparation providers, including traditional and alternative pathways.
Facilitate Teacher Preparation Committee Meetings.
Support the Director of Educator Preparation and Pathways in facilitating the relationship with the board and CAEP/AAQEP in national teacher preparation approval processes.
Support the Director of Educator Preparation and Pathways in facilitating the relationship with the board and NASDTEC in national discussions around teacher licensure, policy, preparation, and ethics.
With a telework arrangement, additional onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Please review the policy for details. Telework
Minimum Qualifications
Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.
Four (4) years of experience as a K-12 teacher, program coordinator or administrator in any of the areas listed: teacher education, mentorship and induction program, continuing education or re-licensure, or professional development for educators.
Experience in planning and program management.
Experience with conflict resolution and problem solving.
Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to engage diverse audiences.
Ability to prepare complete, comprehensive reports using MS Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in education or closely related field.
Experience developing and implementing initiatives within a multi-tiered system of supports framework.
Experience coaching and leading others to achieve organizational or educational goals.
Understanding of and application of Minnesota’s and other state’s licensure systems.
Experience in research and policy development and data management and analysis.
