Minnesota Housing is hiring! We’re a mission-focused financial institution seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to design, develop, and manage data solutions that seamlessly integrate with different applications. The role will provide critical business reports by collecting and analyzing business data. The role will serve as an expert in data services and a proven track record of leveraging Power BI for advanced data visualization and reporting.

Essential Job Duties

  • Design and implement end-to-end data solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, and Power BI.

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows on Azure, ensuring optimal performance for AI and analytics use cases.

  • Develop interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports in Power BI to support business intelligence and decision-making.

  • Manage and maintain data lakes, warehouses, and real-time streaming solutions using Microsoft Fabric and other Azure tools.

  • Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Troubleshoot and enhance existing data solutions and Power BI reports for performance and usability.

  • Stay updated with advancements in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure AI services to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below.   • Ten (10) years of progressive, hands-on experience in Enterprise Applications and Data Engineering.

  • A bachelor’ s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science may substitute for two (2) years of experience, OR a Master’s degree in the listed fields may substitutes for three (3) years of experience

  • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience using Microsoft Power BI to design and develop advanced dashboards, reports, and data models.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Azure, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, Oracle Database, and enterprise data warehouse environments.

  • Experience designing and implementing data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and big data processing frameworks.

  • Proficiency in programming languages and query tools, including Python and SQL.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven ability and willingness to continuously learn and adapt to emerging technologies in data engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in Azure Data Engineering, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or DBA.

  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration using Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services.

  • Knowledge of curating and organizing data into bronze, silver, and gold layers.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for CI/CD pipelines in Azure environments.
