This posting will be used to fill up to two positions .

This position exists to (1) provide general information and assistance to customers and (2) to prepare applications for processing by licensing specialists. Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides technical support and services to external customers both over the phone and in person.

  • Review, sort, and route incoming correspondence, applications, and requests for information. Scan documents for use in storing, tracking, and retrieving.

  • Processes all bounce-back emails that were undeliverable in the PELSB General Email Box.

  • Reviews and processes Center for Educator Licensing (CEL) and Educators online requests.

  • Provide backup support with the processing of paper checks to ensure there is no backlog of checks.

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

  • Keyboarding/typing skill, using Microsoft Word or equivalent software, sufficient to produce documents such as emails, memos, form letters and other correspondence in an efficient and timely manner

  • Ability to use math to calculate and verify totals on reports, requisitions or bills, generate cash receipts, verify totals and prepare a daily deposit

  • Customer service skills sufficient to: (1) perform the duties with politeness, respect, and interest in positive problem solving; (2) provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence; and (3) respond effectively to clients, coworkers, and customers who have questions about agency operations and procedures (in person, in writing, on the phone, and through presentations and other electronic correspondence)

  • Skills in database management sufficient to enter and retrieve data and perform searches to find relevant information and generate a variety of up-to-date reports

  • Knowledge of communication sufficient to: (1) read, explain, and interpret a variety of materials; (2) follow detailed instructions and explain complex processes to customers; and (3) write, prepare, and edit materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of licensure process for teachers, related service personnel, and administrators to ensure applicants are applying for the appropriate licensure.

  • Knowledge of licensing operating systems including Access, PLD, Center for Educator Licensing (CEL) and Educators sufficient to process work accordingly.

  • Experience with the licensing process sufficient to answer technical licensing questions
