Associate Scientist II (S&T Scientist I)Max Bill Rate $55.00Minnesota: St. Paul : Woodridge : 177 East County Rd B MN- 100% onsite.Days/Hours: Mon - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Selected Candidate will start ASAP after screenings have cleared.Please see complete Job Description below for full Position DetailsTop Three Must-Have Skills: Thermal analysis experience (DSC/TGA), problem solving skills, good communication skills (verbal & written)Prefers candidate with 1-3 years of previous experiencePosition Summary:The scientist has a focus in polymer materials characterization with experience working with various techniques such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, and SEM. Additionally, scientist will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, possessing strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.Essential Functions: Perform material characterization and assessment using a variety of techniques including DSC, TGA, FTIR to support medical device project teams with various Materials Science needs. Partner with other scientists and project teams to define test plans.Work in a dynamic team environment and have strong interpersonal skills. Conduct hands-on laboratory analysis and testing. Document experiments in a highly regulated environment in an electronic notebook system. Knowledge of technical concepts and principles underlying Materials Science techniques.Analyze test results and draft technical reports. Accountability/Supervision: Possess ability to apply chemistry/materials education and experience in fast-moving laboratory.Willingness to be hands on in a science laboratory. Will receive work direction and prioritization from supervisor and/or other S&T scientists.Possess strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Strong technical writing skillsWorking Conditions: Working in lab environment with proper safety equipment. Working with common laboratory chemicals and biological tissue.Working while sitting and /or standing.Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work in fast-moving environment where priorities frequently change.Experience with common materials characterization techniques.Ability to perform multiple assignments concurrently and meet required deadlines.Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemistry or closely related degree with 1-3 years demonstrated experience Ability to operate analytical instrumentation through relevant industry experienceExperience documenting laboratory work in electronic/paper notebook system according to GMP guidelines.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with polymer characterization and understanding of structure/property relationships. Working knowledge of Trios, Omnic software system and Labvantage ELN documentation system.
