This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor
The position provides program management and strategic planning in the development, planning, and execution of the agency’s unmanned aircraft and advanced aviation programs. Responsibilities include establishing and managing goals and objectives for the agency’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) programs; managing intra-agency budgets, equipment, and personnel resources; providing guidance to communities on unmanned aircraft and advanced aviation issues, operations, and planning; and piloting unmanned aircraft in support of agency requirements.
In-state travel is required up to 35% of the time; this includes some in-state overnight travel. With prior approval and as needed, out-of-state travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
Possess a valid Remote Pilot Certificate (Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); AND
Three years of advanced professional experience that demonstrates:
Experience developing aviation-related policy, operational procedures, and safety practices; and
Experience convening and facilitating stakeholder groups, interest groups, or public involvement programs; and
Knowledge in aviation industry advancements, including advanced air mobility, new propulsion systems, and other emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing program/project budgets and resources.
