This is a full-time, hourly level position.

Pay: $30.71/hr.

Shift: 1st Shift- 1 6am-2:30pm Mon-Fri. weekends as needed

Position Summary:

ADM is seeking a skilled Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support operations at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) terminal in St. Louis, MO. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems critical to terminal operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on industrial maintenance experience, strong electrical troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced, outdoor work environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial equipment, including electrical systems, motors, control panels, hydraulics, and mechanical components

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on terminal equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency

  • Utilize welding equipment and cutting torch for fabrication, repair, and maintenance tasks

  • Operate and maintain equipment such as pumps, hydraulic cranes, forklifts, bobcats, backhoes, hand tools, and power tools, ensuring safe operation at all times

  • Assist with terminal operations including loading and unloading of barges, trucks, and railcars as needed

  • Follow and support terminal operating procedures, including proper waste handling and disposal

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions

  • Support lead responsibilities when assigned, including planning work, prioritizing tasks, providing technical guidance, and leading safety meetings

  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and leadership to meet operational goals

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in industrial maintenance with a strong focus on electrical systems (motors, wiring, troubleshooting, controls)

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems

  • Proficiency with welding equipment and cutting torch, including setup and safe operation

  • Experience operating industrial and mobile equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, backhoes, hydraulic cranes, and pumps

  • Basic knowledge of terminal or industrial operations, including loading and unloading processes (barge, rail, truck preferred)

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documents, safety procedures, and work instructions

  • Ability to follow direction and execute tasks under supervision while also working independently when needed

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, including adherence to policies and proactive identification of hazards

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as required

  • Ability to work in all types of climates and outdoor environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and Company human performance exam (physical ability test)

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to lift heavy materials on a frequent basis

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including kneeling, bending, climbing stairs and ladders

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and near or on large bodies of water

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
