Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a Float Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our busy medical practices and provide high‑quality, compassionate care across multiple outpatient settings.

As a float CMA, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinical operations while building meaningful relationships with patients and care teams throughout our organization.

About the Role

The Float Certified Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support as needed. This role floats between medical practices based on operational needs, offering both hands‑on patient care and front‑office support.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CMA who values variety, collaboration, and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide clinical and administrative support to providers, including check-in/check-out tasks, patient intake, vital signs, medication review, point‑of‑care testing, and assisting with procedures

  • Support efficient patient flow by greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EHR

  • Manage front‑office and communication tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, processing referrals, and coordinating prescription requests

  • Float between medical practices to meet staffing needs while collaborating with care teams to deliver safe, compassionate, high‑quality patient care

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Active CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification

  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in a medical office

  • Experience using electronic health records (EHR)

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Comfort managing confidential and sensitive information
