Cook. 4 temporary, full-time positions. 04/01/2026 to 10/15/2026. Gangplank LLC located at 100 S. State Street, St. Ignace, MI 49781. gangplankstignace@gmail.com. Food preparation of soups, meats, vegetables, or desserts cooked to order using recipes. Such foods include chicken, shrimp, fish, alligator, steak burgers, bacon, sliced ham, turkey, cheeses, fresh produce, sauces, dips, and batters. Must use food prep equipment such as mixers, food processors, and slicers. Responsible for stocking and rotating food on the line. Clean and sanitize kitchen stations throughout the day using sponges, rags, mops and cleaning solutions, and soap. Upon opening and closing, clean and sanitize kitchen equipment using sponges, rags, mops and cleaning solutions, and soap. Kitchen equipment includes reach-in coolers, char broiler, chargrill, flat top, fryers, ovens, refrigerators, the floor, and dishes. Rotate and put away deliveries of produce, proteins, and imperishable goods. 35 hours per week. Varying number of hours per workday depending on shift. Shifts and days vary, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, 4:00 pm to 12:00 am. OT possible. No minimum education required. 6 months experience is required. Must be able to communicate with staff. Worker must be capable of standing for extended periods of time while performing the work requirements. Must be capable of standing and/or balancing for long periods of time, up to 90% or more of a normal work shift. Must be capable of frequently or constantly balancing, reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, handling, twisting. All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. The employee will not supervise other workers. Travel will not be required. Wage: $15.96/hour. OT Wage: $23.94/hour. Workers paid weekly. Optional board/lodging available at a cost of $70 per week to be paid directly to the employer; no deduction. In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business. On the job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers' reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.28/day during travel to a maximum of $68/day with receipts/documentation of actual expenses. H2B Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job, and guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period of total employment period.
