Amergis School Nurse (RN) in St. Helens, Oregon
School Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a qualified School Registered Nurse (RN) to provide district-level nursing support for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year. This role is essential in promoting student health and safety while supporting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of K–12 students in a school setting.
The School RN oversees the application of the nursing process, delivers student care, responds to medical needs, and collaborates closely with families, school staff, and healthcare providers. Services are provided in accordance with Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies, and physician orders.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to students within the school setting
Promote student health and wellness while supporting academic success
Respond to medical emergencies and manage acute and chronic health conditions
Provide diabetic care, seizure medication administration, and medication training/delegation
Serve as a liaison between families, school staff, healthcare providers, and district personnel
Maintain compliance with professional nursing standards, state regulations, and district requirements
The nurse will typically be based at an elementary school site that supports multiple students with diabetic needs, while also providing district-level coverage as needed.
Assignment Details
Position: RN – School (District Nurse Coverage)
Setting: In-person, K–12 school district
Start Date: ASAP (current district nurse begins leave of absence on 3/16/26)
Contract Length: 2 months (remainder of the 2025–2026 school year)
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Schedule Flexibility: District is open to half-time or full-time coverage

Minimum Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
Adherence to applicable professional standards of nursing practice
Current CPR certification, if applicable
Completion of TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, as required)
Current health certificate, per contract or state regulations
Minimum age of 18 years
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
School Nurse Certification (as required by state or contract)
One year of experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or public health
