Schedule: Monday–Friday | No weekends | No call
Pay Range: $42.66 – $65.82 per hour
Pay is based on experience, education, and certifications.
Job Description Summary
As a Cardiac & Vascular Sonographer at Intermountain Health , you will perform a wide range of diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician. This role is primarily vascular-focused, with some echocardiography required, and supports accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care in our Vascular & Vein Clinic at St. George Regional Hospital .

Essential Functions
Perform diagnostic vascular and echocardiography examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician direction.
Demonstrate competency in vascular and echo studies as validated through supervisor skills pass-off, including:
Minimum 100 vascular exams
Minimum 25 exams in Adult Congenital, Fetal, Pediatric Vascular, TCD, arterial scans, or renal/SMA studies.
Prioritize, coordinate, and schedule exams with physicians, caregivers, offices, and patients.
Prepare patients for procedures by verifying patient identification, educating patients and families, and ensuring safety and comfort throughout the exam process.
Perform ultrasound exams efficiently while maintaining high standards for image quality, patient safety, and clinical accuracy.
Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families to coordinate care and address patient needs.
Accurately document exam results and apply appropriate charge codes.
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment; coordinate repairs and supply needs as necessary.
Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals.
Participate in ongoing education to maintain clinical competency and expand technical expertise.
Provide education and mentorship to caregivers, fellows, and students, including orientation of new caregivers (eligible for clinical coach differential).
Assist with development of educational and orientation materials.
Actively participate in department meetings and cardiovascular conferences.

Minimum Qualifications
ARDMS or CCI certification in Cardiac or Vascular Sonography
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
Must obtain two national registry credentials through ARDMS, CCI, or ASN, applicable to the department, such as:
Vascular Technology
Adult Echocardiography
Adult Congenital Echocardiography
Advanced Cardiac Sonographer
Must meet one of the following experience/education pathways:
10+ years of cardiology or healthcare experience OR
5+ years of cardiology or healthcare experience plus an Associate’s Degree
