Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Join a dynamic team where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our production facility. This position involves performing Special Process and Bond Lay-Up duties, requiring attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions closely. You will work with various tools and equipment, ensuring quality and precision in every task.

Responsibilities

  • Follow written and verbal instructions, including prototyping activities.

  • Demonstrate good hand dexterity and coordination while working within close tolerances.

  • Manage product and tooling inventory efficiently.

  • Read and work from drawings and process documents accurately.

  • Perform inspections using tools such as protractors, scales, calipers, and micrometers.

  • Maintain safety standards and handle materials responsibly.

  • Keep the production facility clean and organized, adhering to housekeeping and common area usage guidelines.

  • Participate in 5S activities to ensure a tidy work environment.

  • Maintain acceptable productivity and accuracy rates.

  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Train others when necessary.

  • Set up and use Band Saw, Hand Router, and Hand Sander.

  • Prepare bonding tools and materials for various operations like material splicing and stabilization.

  • Work with all requested materials and possess necessary computer skills for job responsibilities.

  • Train and work on additional equipment and applications to meet production goals when required.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of hand tools and measuring tools such as tapes, calipers, protractors, and depth gauges up to 0.005.

  • Entry-level computer skills and math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimal points.

  • Ability to read and understand written work instructions and basic drawings.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • RF scanning experience is beneficial.

  • Manufacturing and production experience is advantageous.

  • Automotive or mechanical experience is a plus.

  • Experience with measuring, power, or hand tools is preferred.

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

Work Environment

The facility provides a climate-controlled bonding room, while other areas may vary in temperature with the seasons. Teams are organized into cells of 2-10 people. Safety is a priority, so safety shoes, eye and hearing protection are required, along with relaxed and comfortable attire. Shorts are not permitted in most areas.

This is a Contract position based out of St. Clair, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.24 - $24.24/hr.
