Huron Automation Screw Co. CNC Process Engineer in St Clair, Michigan

We are currently seeking a skilled Process Engineer with a Screw Machine and CNC Turning and milling machines to join our dynamic team.

Job Description: As a Process Engineer with expertise in tooling design, programming, and process engineering, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for designing and implementing tooling solutions, developing CNC programs and screw machine and secondary operations layouts. Focused on driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Estimating: Involved with others in manufacturing team to develop estimates for materials, process steps, cycle times, and tooling needs to respond to customer's requests for quote. Will require knowledge of Screw Machine and CNC turning machines.

  2. Process Engineering: Analyze manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times and minimize waste.

  3. Tooling Design: Design and develop tooling solutions, including fixtures, jigs, and cutting tools, to optimize machining processes and ensure consistent quality.

  4. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to establish inspection procedures and ensure that machined components meet or exceed quality standards.

  5. Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues related to tooling, programming, and machining processes to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

  6. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, process optimization, and implementation of best practices.

  7. Training and Development: Provide training and support to machine operators and production personnel on tooling setup, programming techniques, and process optimization strategies.

  8. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in Screw Machine and CNC machining, tooling design, programming, and process engineering.

· Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Mastercam.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

· Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is highly desirable.

· Experience with Six Sigma methodologies and process optimization techniques is a plus.

· Bachelor's degree helpful but not required
