SAIC Network Security Credential Administrator in Springfield, Virginia
Description
SAIC has an opening for Network Security Credential Administrator to support a Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Technology (DT) Bureau. DT provides enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support services for desktops, servers, networks, firewalls, and enterprise applications across the Department.
This position develops, implements, and enforces the framework for the creation and management of network security accounts to protect classified and sensitive communication systems. Key responsibilities include overseeing the organization’s account provisioning lifecycle, conducting rigorous audits of access credentials, ensuring compliance with federal and commercial identity standards, and maintaining the integrity of secure communication profiles.
Description of Duties:
Account Governance & Policy Development: Research, draft, and implement organization-specific policies for account creation, maintenance, and deprovisioning. Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for managing privileged access and secure network identities based on federal and commercial mandates.
Access Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular, deep-dive audits of local and remote security accounts to ensure strict adherence to federal standards. Verify that every active account has a validated mission requirement and that all access levels are appropriately tiered.
Account Lifecycle Training: Train personnel on the technical procedures for requesting, managing, and securing network accounts. Educate users on Identity and Access Management (IAM) best practices, Emergency Action Plans (EAP), and the protection of account-specific credentials.
Risk Mitigation & Account Integrity: Analyze, report, and mitigate risks related to unauthorized account access or credential compromise. Act as the primary liaison with government clients for all matters involving the security and status of organizational communication accounts.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ;
Identity & Access Expertise: Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles specifically related to account management, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and government identity regulations.
Secure Protocol Mastery: Technical knowledge of secure protocols (TLS, SSH, IPsec) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) as they apply to authenticating and authorizing network security accounts.
Emergency Response Planning: Ability to develop and test Emergency Action Plans (EAP) for the rapid suspension, locking, or logical destruction of network security accounts during a site compromise or emergency evacuation.
Technical Tool Proficiency: Extensive experience with ServiceNow (or similar IAM/ticketing platforms), web-based administrative consoles, and Microsoft Office software for reporting and audit documentation.
Clearance Requirement:
US Citizenship.
TOP SECRET with the ability to obtain SCI.
Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:
Understanding of Post Quantum Encryption
Previous COMSEC experience
Familiarity with DoS environment (data and voice networks, IT security systems, policies and procedures), Foreign Affairs Handbooks (FAHs), Foreign Affairs Manuals (FAMs) preferred.
Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.
