Description of Primary Duties
Graphic Designers produce advertising campaigns for events sponsored by Campus Recreation and general signage for our facilities through creativity of printed materials and ad layout.
Required Qualifications
Graphic Designers are student employees and must meet all University requirements to work on campus. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of graphic design and typography. Preferred applicants must have Macintosh computer experience with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Publisher preferred). Graphic layout experience desired and an understanding of campus event promotion is helpful. The Graphic Designer must also understand the interdependent relationship between aesthetic design and the visual delivery of event information. Applicants must also have good communication, organization, and leadership skills; can effectively manage several tasks simultaneously; and the ability to meet rigid deadlines.
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities
Create fully printed promotional materials in posters, table tents, flyers and brochures as requested.
Correspond with clients to ensure effectiveness and validity of information.
Print promotional materials using the colored copier and poster printer.
Assist with special projects and assignments as requested.
Help with social media marketing
Required:
Mastery of Adobe Suite
Emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Knowledge of Mac Operating System
Mastery of typographic hierarchy
Understanding of Canva
Required Certifications
