Position Title Student Worker in University Advancement Relations

Applicants must be currently authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.

Department/Employer Operating Hours 8am-5pm, with some evening and weekend hours

How many hours per week are required? 15-20 hours, starting Summer 2026

Description of Primary Duties

  • Maintains spreadsheets and understands reports relating to student scholarships and events

  • Serves in creating and executing some of Missouri State University’s signature events, such as The Founders Club Medallion Reception, The MO Public Affairs Hall of Fame, and The Gratitude Gathering, as well as other important events such as gift announcements, ribbon cuttings and ground breaking ceremonies. These duties include event preparation, attendance and cleanup

  • Responsible for organizing and inventorying event related items

  • Basic office functions, such as filing, copying, sorting and assisting with mail-outs

  • Assists with social media ambassadorship by creating photo and video content for in-office assignments, as well as attending some specified events

    Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at Missouri State University as an undergraduate student

  • Meet deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Work quickly and efficiently, while staying attentive to detail

  • Willing to learn new online software in addition to Microsoft Suite and Office 365

  • Be able to trouble-shoot and think critically and creatively

  • Be ready and willing to work with people, adapt to communication styles, and be prepared to listen

  • Be ready to work in a team and individually

  • Ability to push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Work consecutive hours with moderate physical activity and continuous standing and walking

  • This position requires a commitment of 15-20hrs/week

  • Night and weekend work is required during some months. Compensation time will be given for these extra work hours.
