Guardian Angel Senior Services PCA/Companion in Springfield, Massachusetts

Job Title: PCA / Companion Basic Function: To maintain the client\'s independence by assisting with activities of daily living. Responsibilities 1. Participate in the development and implementation of established client care plans and communicate changes with other members of our team. 2. Administer care to clients in accordance with client care plans established by Guardian Angel Senior Services. 3. Prepare client\'s meals as indicated. Assist or feed clients as necessary in an unhurried and pleasant manner. 4. Ensure client environment is neat and orderly to include performing housekeeping responsibilities and maintaining laundry. 5. Check supplies during each shift to ensure adequate levels are maintained. If supplies are needed, place new order by following procedures indicated in care plan. 6. Assist with rehabilitation exercises and treatments. 7. Encourage and assist with personal hygiene and grooming activities for clients as needed. 8. Never lift client off of floor or from fallen position. Call Guardian Angel Senior Services immediately for assistance or 911 first, if emergency situation. Make client as comfortable as possible while waiting for assistance to arrive. 9. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training procedures. 10. Provide transportation for clients, as needed. Run errands and shopping as requested. 11. Maintain access to an email account in order to receive weekly schedules as well as client updates. 12. Arrange social activities and accompany clients on outings. 13. Organize assignments and complete in a timely manner. 14. Provide emotional support to clients and family members. 15. Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times. 16. At every shift, document client records in communications book at client\'s home in accordance with policies and procedures as established by Guardian Angel Senior Services. 17. Record and report any changes in symptoms, reactions or responses by clients to Supervisor in an accurate and timely manner. 18. Attend all in-service educational programs and staff meetings as required. 19. Perform other related duties as assigned Education/Training: Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent CPR certification Experience: Prior home health care experience helpful.
