About this Job
The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.
This position is located at Tickfaw State Park, in Springfield, LA. The purpose of this position is to perform groundskeeping and custodial duties to help maintain cleanliness and a safe environment for the customers. This includes all rental facilities and grounds, including trails and beach area. This position will also assist in the front office such as checking in guests, handling forms of payment, assisting customers, and completing office paperwork.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of park facilities.
Stocks cabins and lodges with cleaning supplies and household items.
Assist with linens, prep for laundry service, stocking supplies for next use, etc.
Clean bathroom facilities, cabins, meeting rooms, lodges, nature center, pool area, etc.
Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries.
Assists with maintaining park grounds such as mowing grass, collecting litter, removing limbs and debris, trail maintenance, and emptying trash receptacles.
Performs routine painting, staining, and other beautification tasks.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Tickfaw State Park, in Springfield, LA
Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C.
Travel: Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
