Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking two knowledgeable and detail-oriented individuals to support the region Traffic Office for efforts that improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the highway system: one for the Traffic Design group and one for the Traffic Safety Operations group. The Design position will contribute to the delivery of traffic plans, specifications, and estimates for projects involving illumination, signals, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The Traffic Safety Operations position will conduct operational reviews and analyze crash data to identify safety improvements and minor operational enhancements, while also designing signs and reviewing traffic control plans. Working collaboratively with internal teams, local agencies, and the public, these positions will help address traffic-related concerns and support data-driven safety improvements aligned with WSDOT's goals of strategic investment, modal integration, and smart technology. Our top candidates will demonstrate skills in traffic engineering analysis, knowledge of traffic control and ITS systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
