Volt Management Corp. Server/Storage Engineer in Spokane, Washington
Volt is immediately hiring for Sr. Server and Storage Engineer in Spokane, WA. Your work centers on strategic opportunities, forward and proactive thinking, positive team and customer interaction, and process improvement. Your duties will include virtualization engineering with platforms including VMware and Nutanix, server engineering on Windows and Linux systems, storage engineering on various SAN platforms such as NetApp, Pure Storage, and IBM, as well as other forms of direct attached and cloud storage. Your duties will also include data center supporting infrastructure such as fiber-channel and ethernet networks, and public cloud administration in Azure and AWS. As a Server/Storage Engineer you will: Core Responsibilities Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. Actively pursue knowledge growth and technical specialization. Develop use case scenarios and plans of new capabilities and driving their adoption. Perform complex work related to industry leading technologies including but not limited to: Virtualization technologies Storage platforms Cloud platforms Backup technologies Database technologies Lead and be heavily engaged in the hands-on technical execution of projects. Coordinate, track, and document full project details for efficient system build. Proactively communicate full project scope, status, and next steps to customers, leadership, and partners. Proactively plan, test, coordinate, and support EHR hosting environment go-lives and migrations. Perform complex technical work adeptly with measurable impacts to the organization. Build, test, train, convert and/or deploy new infrastructure, workflows, policies, and processes. Design, build, manage, and support resources for multiple EHR cloud hosting systems, including server OS, and storage infrastructure. Design, install, configure, and support technology platforms and solutions used to provide hosted EHRs to customers. Perform all technical infrastructure tasks in accordance with industry and organizational security tools, techniques, and initiatives, and in accordance with cybersecurity standards for design, deployment, and monitoring. Maintain constant vigilance for security issues, breach prevention and response, and active and ongoing vulnerability mitigation. Perform technical infrastructure and security-minded incident response, precision troubleshooting, and clear and thorough communication at any hour of the day. Stay up to date on latest services, innovations, and market trends. Evaluate and document current-state processes through discovery and analysis. Present recommendations for process improvement based on industry experience and best practices. Serve as a liaison between diverse IT and operations groups. Adhere to departmental best practices and guidelines. Contribute to team and organizational objectives and outcomes. Guide less experienced members of the team, as needed. This is a full time opportunity. The ideal candidate will have: Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications One or more relevant third-party certifications such as Microsoft, Citrix, RedHat, VMWare, Azure (preferred). Networking technology certification areas (preferred).
