Job Title: Precaster
Job Description
The precaster assembles metal forms and helps manufacture precast and pre-stressed concrete products such as slabs, stairs, beams, tanks, and vaults. This role focuses on setting up and cleaning molds, pouring and finishing concrete, and supporting a variety of production activities on the shop floor. You will work as part of a small crew in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment where attention to detail, safety, and teamwork are essential.
Responsibilities
Assemble metal forms for molding reinforced concrete slabs, stairs, beams, and other precast products.
Clean, prepare, and inspect molds and forms before each pour to ensure quality and safety.
Frequently climb and move in and out of narrow concrete forms that are approximately 5–6 feet tall.
Read and understand the production schedule and follow established time frames for each task.
Assist with the setup of concrete forms, including placing reinforcement and hardware as required.
Assist with stripping and removing concrete forms after curing while protecting product quality.
Help with filling forms with concrete, including monitoring pour consistency and levels.
Assist with leveling, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during daily production activities.
Follow instructions from leads and work cooperatively with crew members across different production zones.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in general housekeeping to keep the shop clean.
Support various activities related to the manufacturing of precast and pre-stressed concrete as assigned.
Essential Skills
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
Ability to climb in and out of narrow forms that are approximately 5–6 feet tall.
Ability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, stretch, and climb for extended periods of time.
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately to 1/16 of an inch.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools in a construction or production setting.
Comfort working in a physically demanding, hot, dirty, and dusty environment.
Basic familiarity with concrete, construction, and general labor tasks.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including reading production schedules and basic blueprints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with concrete finishing tools and techniques.
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as overhead cranes.
Basic woodworking or carpentry skills.
Experience in precast production or concrete construction.
Blueprint reading skills for production and layout work.
Positive, drama-free attitude with a willingness to take direction and work well with others.
Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and move between different production zones.

Work Environment
The role is based at a precast concrete manufacturing facility that produces burial vaults, stairways, septic and water tanks, manholes, storm and sewer drainage components, retaining walls, park restrooms, light pole bases, and custom concrete projects. You will work primarily indoors on the production floor as part of a crew of about 5–10 people, within a larger operation of approximately 150 employees. The shop is large with open doors and consists of six different production zones, each using different skills and concrete mixes. The environment is physically demanding, hot, and dirty, with concrete dust and splatter common throughout the work area. Hand tools, power tools, concrete finishing tools, and overhead cranes are used regularly. Team members work closely together in a hands-on, industrial setting where safety, communication, and cooperation are critical.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
