As a

Medication Aideat our Spearfish facility, you will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living tasks including eating, getting out of bed, and getting bathed and dressed. The ideal candidate understands that each resident has a unique story to learn from, and that they require patience, kindness, and empathy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
  • Ensure the well-being and protection of every resident through the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Promote and support a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
  • Assist residents by providing snacks and supplements, encouraging water intake, and assisting with feeding as trained and as needed.
  • Answer pendant system/call lights promptly to determine and assist with residents' needs.
  • Coordinates with nursing staff to assist with resident care and medications.
  • Document the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, and activity and dietary services.
  • Communicates changing health conditions, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns/responses to the nursing leadership team.
  • Performs resident care responsibilities in a manner conducive to resident's safety and comfort consistent with Peaceful Pines Senior Living Policies and Procedures as well as state/federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection-control techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed in the state of South Dakota as a Medication Aide.
    • On-the-job training provided if you are not currently licensed.
  • A dependable team player looking to promote themselves and the people around them.
  • A passion for working with seniors and/or caring for others.

The

Registered Nurseis responsible for assessments, documentation, and oversight of care for the residents. They will partner with the Director of Nursing to provide excellent care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

Promotes and supports a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.

Provides on-call backup to the community.

Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.

Ensures that all the needs are met for the residents as well as advising staff that are on the shift.

Ensures that any incident reports are completed properly and promptly.

Prepares necessary medical paperwork for all scheduled resident appointments.

Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys.

Maintains resident files and appropriate documents as required.

Assists Medication Aides and Caregivers in service delivery and training as requested.

Notifies DON of any new doctors' orders that are received and informs the DON of any med changes.

Performs inventory management for medication administration by Medication Aides and checks new medications from the pharmacy.

Communicates in staff communication book any information that staff needs to be aware of.

Assist with picking up shifts on an evenly distributed schedule among nursing staff as needed.

Reviews, edits, and creates nursing policy drafts to be reviewed and finalized by the Executive Director and/or DON.
