Aerotek Spooling Machine Operator in Sparta, New Jersey

Job Title: Spooling Machine Operator Job Description

The Spooling Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting machinery that feeds, winds, spools, and cuts materials according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders to determine specifications.

  • Load spools and monitor machine performance.

  • Maintain product quality and troubleshoot basic issues.

  • Keep the work area clean and organized.

  • Operate and adjust spooling equipment throughout production.

  • Manually position and feed material, maintaining consistent foot-pedal pressure.

  • Verify product specifications by reviewing work orders.

  • Identify and report machine malfunctions.

  • Perform repetitive motions and material handling safely and consistently.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with machine operation.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Proficiency in using drill press, mill, and lathe machines.

  • Knowledge of production processes, braiding, and mechanical systems.

  • Troubleshooting skills for machines and equipment.

  • Experience with plastic extrusion and CNC operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1+ year of related production or machine-operation experience.

  • Ability to anticipate production needs and meet daily schedules.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparta, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
