Essential Duties:
Lead engineering teams to fabricate, install, and validate new test equipment as well as repair and debug and resolve issues with existing equipment.
Develop novel tests for studying various cell properties under diverse conditions.
Create and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOP) for test equipment.
Provide training technicians on equipment and SOPs and incorporate user feedback.
Design and conduct experiments to deepen understanding the implications of different battery cell designs parameters towards abuse testing.
Collaborate closely with multi-national Engineering teams to enhance knowledge of failure modes, performance and life expectancy of cell products.
Apply advanced troubleshooting skills to identify and solve complex problems.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
Basic: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar discipline.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar discipline.
Essential Qualifications:
5+ years of working with electrochemical testing equipment and procedures.
Proficiency in test design and setup, data acquisition and analysis.
Experience in developing dashboards for cell testing and manufacturing processes.
Expertise in using experimental design and statistical analysis to make data driven decisions.
Demonstrated ability in extracting and analyzing cell manufacturing data and correlating data to cell performance.
Strong engineering fundamental in solid mechanical, thermal, materials and electrical engineering.
In-depth knowledge of various databases to obtain full traceability of cell data
Adaptability to work in various environments including the manufacturing floor, laboratory, and office/desk.
Skilled in troubleshooting cells, machines, and process through root cause analysis.
Excellent teamwork skills with other employees at all levels of an organization.

Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in electrochemical testing, preference will be given to Lithium-ion chemistry experience.
Multiple years of experience with cell cycling laboratory setup and operation.
Expertise in leading root-cause investigations, resolutions, and product improvements.
Proficiency in analyzing electrochemical datasets and effectively communicate the extracted cell performance parameters.
Comfortable with hands on cell fabrication and disassembly.
Experience interfacing to databases, information management and reporting applications used for MES/SCADA systems is preferred.
Strong data analysis skills with tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, MATLAB, are highly desired.
