The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in delivering a seamless and positive experience for team members throughout the employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on onboarding, benefits administration, and HR operations. This position partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate HR data, timely completion of pre-employment requirements, and consistent application of HR policies and processes. The role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys hands-on work, values collaboration, and wants to contribute directly to employee engagement and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all pre-employment requirements, documentation, and system entries are completed accurately and on time.
Partner cross-functionally with talent acquisition, payroll, IT, safety, and hiring managers to deliver a seamless and positive new hire experience.
Maintain and update employee records in the HCM system, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
Serve as a primary point of contact for team member questions related to HR policies, benefits, and employment verifications, providing clear and timely guidance.
Educate team members on benefit offerings and support both open enrollment and individual enrollment processes.
Perform carrier and billing audits to verify accuracy and assist with ongoing benefits administration tasks.
Review, prepare, and distribute team member communications related to wellness initiatives that promote engagement and a healthy workforce.
Assist with HR projects such as acquisitions, file audits, and training newly integrated teams on company HR processes and systems.
Collaborate with HR, payroll, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and consistency across people operations and related workflows.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of human resources experience in a professional office setting.
Strong knowledge of HR processes, including onboarding, benefits administration, and employee records management.
Hands-on experience with HCM systems and HR information systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain HR policies and benefits clearly.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as talent acquisition, payroll, IT, safety, and accounting.
High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience or certification.
Experience working with DayForce or similar HCM platforms.
Background in employee relations and general HR administrative support.
Experience supporting HR activities related to acquisitions and organizational growth.
Interest in and ability to support wellness initiatives and employee engagement programs.
Strong service-oriented mindset and commitment to a people-first culture.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving HR initiatives and projects.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is based in a professional office environment and does not offer remote work. You will work closely with HR, payroll, accounting, IT, safety, and operational teams in a collaborative setting that values service, professionalism, and continuous improvement. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks Glencoe, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $35.10/hr.
