Billing Analyst
Job Description
The Billing Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of billing data submitted to clients for maintenance billing. The position involves performing daily, weekly, and monthly audits, preparing and reviewing financial reports, and managing communications with suppliers.
Responsibilities
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly billing audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Review maintenance billing transaction reports from vendors and dealers prior to billing cutoff.
Prepare, review, and distribute daily operational and financial reports, including system processing validation and error reports.
Conduct audits across multiple systems and processes to validate data for Internal Controls, Finance, and Operational areas.
Generate, analyze, and resolve error reports for rejected and aging transactional billing data.
Validate and review supplier files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Escalate potential/current risks identified through product suite documentation.
Prepare and distribute monthly reports for use by the organization, Finance, and Vendors.
Manage and respond to supplier email communications professionally and promptly.
Create and manage production calendars for team members.
Participate as a key contributor in cross-functional initiatives and client inquiries related to billing.
Apply expertise to support new initiatives or client requests, and resolve related issues.
Support functional teams to understand system and contractual requirements.
Identify system issues and submit IT incidents to resolve them.
Collaborate with the Billing team to identify and scope potential process or technology improvement opportunities.
Respond to operational and billing inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain and update Smartsheet tools and the BPS SharePoint site for team workflows.
Participate in assigned projects including analysis, testing, and procedural development.
Support internal and external audit requests through data gathering and validation.
Develop and maintain deletion tracking sheets and vacation calendars.
Provide business and technical support for both internal and external clients.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field, or 2-4 years of relevant experience.
Strong analytical background with experience in process documentation and reporting.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of applications such as Smartsheet and SharePoint.
Experience with SQL, Power BI, and automation technologies (Power Automate, Alteryx) is beneficial.
Knowledge of SAP S4/HANA.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment with office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks Glencoe, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.25/hr.
