Youll apply advanced engineering methods, automation knowhow, and datadriven decisionmaking to unlock multimilliondollar productivity, accuracy, and flow improvements. From optimizing Manhattan WMS functionality to tuning conveyance and sortation systems, youll shape the future of how Foot Locker delivers for athletes and sneaker lovers around the world.

This is a role for a hands-on problem-solver who thrives where technology meets operationsinside a fast-paced environment that blends sports culture, cutting-edge systems, and major capital investments.

Demonstrated success optimizing or troubleshooting automated material handling systems. Mastery of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to perform and interpret time and motion studies, capacity modeling, and statistical analysis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Engineer, document, and maintain standard work across all DC functions using LEAN and statistical methods. Design processes that fully leverage Manhattan WMS capabilities (Wave, WMOS, RF flows, cartonization, work queue logic). Configure and optimize system-driven work (allocation strategies, pick-pathing rules, replenishment logic, exception handling). Translate automation and software capabilities into floor-ready playbooks that drive consistent and scalable execution. Design processes that integrate seamlessly with conveyance, sortation, print/apply, and packing automation. Analyze conveyor, merge, divert, and sortation performance using time studies, throughput modeling, and queue simulation. Partner with Engineering to optimize equipment settings, network logic, accumulation zones, and rate balancing. Lead improvements to automated equipment such as put-to-light, automated baggers, inline scan tunnels, dimensioners, and print/apply systems. Run experiments and A/B tests on system behavior to improve cycle times, accuracy, and flow continuity. Ensure system changes are technically validated, capacity-modeled, and aligned with peak readiness requirements. Use statistical analysis (regression, confidence intervals, process capability, and Pareto analysis) to quantify improvement opportunities and validate impact. Build financial models that tie engineering changes to hard-dollar cost savings, labor hours, productivity gains, and throughput increases. Own and report on the pipeline of engineering initiatives delivering $1M+ annual savings. Develop predictive insights using historical data from WMS, automation controllers, and labor systems. Lead RCA using 5-Why, fishbone, fault-tree analysis, and data-backed validation. Separate equipment, syst m configuration, and process failures to eliminate recurring defects. Ensure corrective actions are designed with both technical and operational considerations in mind. Build monitoring dashboards and alerts for early detection of systemic issues. Collaborate closely with IT, Automation Engineering, Safety, Training, and DC Operations to deliver solutions from design through stabilization. Influence leaders across the DC without formal authority by providing clear engineering rationale and business cases.
