GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general supervision of the Golf Pro, performs general duties to assist in the smooth operation of organizing patrons on the golf course and in the golf pro shop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Receive and count money from patrons. Return and count change to patrons. Count money at the end of shifts and ensure till is balanced. Run credit card, cash, and check transactions.
Answer telephone and respond to questions and inquiries. Set tee times for patrons using the phone. Transfer telephone calls to appropriate personnel. Organize time at counter to handle demands with people coming in, calling on the phone, and making purchases.
Monitor the play on the golf course to start players at appropriate times to have a managed course and to maintain control so playing is smooth.
Deal with the public in all types of situations, including stressful and difficult situations. May have to handle and diffuse upset customers.
Handle sales from the pro shop. Be familiar with stock and be able to answer questions regarding products.
Clean pro shop and starting area, including organization, vacuuming, dusting, clearing out extra items and cleaning restrooms. May need to wash, clean carts, and pick up driving range on occasion.
May assign duties to cart personnel when pro and/or golf course operations assistant is not available or as directed.
Serve as the lead to Cart and Range staff during assigned shifts when full-time staff is unavailable.
Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position. Must abide by all city policies and procedures. Must work well with others and be a team player.
