SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing and enhancing purchasing activities and processes, sourcing and distributing raw materials, developing purchasing strategies, building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Developing and implementing strategic procurement plans for specific commodities and services.
Identifying, quantifying, and driving sustainable cost savings across all spend categories.
Interpreting trends, assessing risks, and recommending actions that align with operational and financial objectives.
Supporting negotiations with suppliers by developing recommendations related to pricing, cost structures, terms and conditions, and technical requirements.
Managing and administering contractual agreements to ensure compliance with company policy.
Maintaining procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Creating and maintaining professional working relationships with our suppliers to gain market share.
Managing day-to-day supplier performance issues, including quality concerns, delivery performance, and supplier-requested schedule changes.
Supporting various stakeholders with business needs and purchases and assist in identifying appropriate suppliers and sourcing approaches.
Developing, analyzing, and executing inventory plans, key performance metrics, and periodic status reports.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ purchasing experience in manufacturing environment.
Competencies
Ability to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders
Experience in purchasing manufacturing inventory
Experience in supply chain management, ideally in converting industry
Strong data analysis, forecasting, and negotiating skills
Proficient with MS Office and multiple systems and applications
3+ years’ experience with an ERP system
Demonstrated experience in inventory management principles
Open to travel if necessary
