Responsibilities
Our single-speciality Ophthalmic Surgery Center, located in Southampton, PA (Bucks County), is dedicated to delivering outstanding eye care in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a Surgery Scheduler,you play a vital role in coordinating outpatient surgical procedures. ensuring accurate patient information, seamless communication, and efficient daily operations that directly support safe, high-quality care.
Position Summary
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating all outpatient surgical procedures, ensuring accurate patient information, and supporting efficient daily operations at the surgery center. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Scheduling & Coordination
Schedule, cancel, and modify all outpatient surgery appointments as requested by physician office staff.
Ensure complete and accurate clinical, demographic, and insurance information is obtained for all scheduled patients.
Communicate same‑day or next‑day add‑on cases, as well as last‑minute cancellations, to the appropriate leader or team members in a timely manner.
Administrative Support
Assist with cross‑trained duties including front desk coverage, chart preparation, and end‑of‑day processes.
Perform general clerical tasks and provide administrative support as needed.
Customer Service
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
Communicate professionally and effectively to support positive patient and staff experiences.
Other Expectations
Maintain a high level of accuracy, follow‑up, and strong multi‑tasking capability.
Protect patient confidentiality in accordance with organizational policy.
Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior medical office, scheduling, or front desk experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
