Genentech Finance Manager in South San Francisco, California

The Position

The Opportunity

The Finance Manager is responsible for the end-to-end FP&A activities (PO management, month-end close, and forecasting) for the Site Operations organization in South San Francisco. This position focuses on standardized financial reporting, operational execution, and AI-driven process automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering: Support Finance Enterprise Partners, Site Services, and Corporate Groups.

  • Operational FP&A: Execute planning, reporting, capital investment tracking, and overhead allocations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process simplification, best-practice sharing, and automation initiatives.

  • Project Support: Lead ad-hoc local and global financial projects.

  • Network: Site Ops, Corporate Groups, eCOE and Digital Finance.

  • Influence: Operational level; ensures cross-functional data integrity and alignment.

  • Financials: Oversight of assigned project budgets and financial data accuracy.

Who You Are

  • Education: Degree in Finance/Accounting (MBA or CPA preferred)

  • Experience: 5+ years in FP&A, G&A, or Capital Projects, ideally within Biotech/Pharma

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP (S/4 HANA) and SAC; expertise in visualization and AI/automation tools; advanced Excel

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $102,300 - $189,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
