The Position
The Opportunity
The Finance Enterprise Partner - CMO oversees the financial health and cost-efficiency of the Commercial Marketing Organization (CMO). Serving as a strategic partner to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role bridges financial rigor with operational reality to optimize resource allocation and drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Decision Support:
Thought Partner: Advise the CMO on investment prioritization and trade-offs.
Performance Liaison: Connect marketing analytics to financial outcomes, providing actionable insights for strategic decisions.
ROI Analysis: Evaluate investment returns and provide recommendations that balance short-term commitments with long-term value.
PR Support: Support Public Relations structure (20% time) to align strategies and investments to portfolio prioritization.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Planning: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the function.
Performance Management: Monitor plan vs. actuals; identify risks and opportunities early.
Reporting: Oversee month-end reliability and prepare executive-level reporting on performance and compliance.
Cross-Functional Integration:
Connector: Facilitate alignment between the CMO organization, Squad Finance (FEPs), and global counterparts.
Transparency: Act as the "single source of truth" for functional financial performance and data sharing.
Stakeholder & Leadership:
Stakeholders: High-frequency engagement with the CMO, executive leadership, and cross-functional squads.
Influence: Must drive results and financial discipline across the matrix without direct authority.
Mindset: Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
Who You Are
Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA preferred).
Experience: 6-12 years of progressive finance experience, ideally in Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences.
Expertise: Strong understanding of pharma revenue mechanics (pricing, gross-to-net) and matrix environments.
Skills: Advanced financial modeling, executive-level communication, and strategic business acumen.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $128,800 - $291,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
