Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 1st shift: 9AM - 5:30PM, M-F
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Wafer QC Inspector to join our semiconductor manufacturing team. The Wafer QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting semiconductor wafers to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications before proceeding to the next stage of production or shipment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform visual and microscopic inspection of semiconductor wafers to detect defects, contamination, scratches, and irregularities.
Conduct quality control checks using inspection equipment such as microscopes, metrology tools, and automated optical inspection systems.
Review and interpret wafer maps, control charts, and quality specifications.
Document inspection results accurately and maintain proper records in quality systems.
Identify non-conforming materials and escalate issues to engineering or production teams.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and cleanroom protocols.
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company quality standards and industry regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field preferred).
1–3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or quality inspection (preferred).
Experience working in a cleanroom environment is a plus.
Basic understanding of semiconductor wafer fabrication processes.
Ability to use microscopes and precision measurement tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to detect small defects.
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Knowledge of ISO quality standards.
Experience with wafer metrology and defect classification.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Work Environment
Cleanroom environment requiring gowning procedures.
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
May require shift work, including nights or weekends.
Handling delicate materials and equipment.
Physical Requirements
Good vision (with correction if needed) for microscopic inspection.
Manual dexterity for handling wafers and inspection tools.
Ability to work in a controlled cleanroom environment.
