Job Summary
The Beacon Applications Analyst – Pediatric Oncology is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the Epic Beacon application for pediatric oncology services. This role assists with system implementations, upgrades, and workflow changes, and serves as a key resource to clinical and operational users regarding application functionality. This is a two year temporary position.
The Applications Analyst provides support and guidance to pediatric oncology staff by offering input and feedback on proposed workflows and system enhancements. The analyst is expected to demonstrate strong ownership, professionalism, and accountability in all assigned duties and to develop an in‑depth understanding of pediatric oncology clinical and business processes.
The Applications Analyst may be required to participate in after‑hours support, including evenings, weekends, or on‑call rotations, to meet operational needs. Regular travel within the health system may be required.
Education
Epic Beacon Certification Preferred.
Epic Willow Certification Preferred.
Bachelor Degree in related Computer Science areas or equivalent experience preferred but applicable work experience will be considered.
Experience
Preferred: At least 3 years of experience with application support and/or implementation
Alternatively: 3+ years of experience in IT support or a related role
Experience in pharmacy or health care environments preferred
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts
Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements, including periodic after‑hours support and some evenings/weekends during upgrades
Expectation that the Pharmacy Application Analyst will be fully trained and ready to assume on‑call responsibilities on a rotating basis within 1 year of hire
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision; ability to mentor others in the use of laboratory systems and provide guidance to Laboratory Medicine staff in troubleshooting problems
Ability to prioritize issues and drive progress in ambiguous situations
