Help at Home is seeking compassionate, dependable, and highly trained Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—specifically those with high‑acuity behavioral needs. As a DSP, you’ll provide one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with aggressive or self injurious ASD presentations. Your work helps people live as independently and safely as possible.

HighAcuity Behavioral Support Responsibilities
(For candidates meeting advanced crisis management qualifications)
Implement structured Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with BCBAs or clinical supervisors
Utilize approved crisis intervention strategies to prevent or deescalate aggressive or self injurious behaviors
Perform safe blocking, protective positioning, stair guarding, and elopement interruption
Maintain situational awareness during community outings and transitions
Support individuals through prolonged escalation cycles with calm, steady regulation
Administer emergency interventions including CPR, First Aid, AED use, and EpiPen administration
What you need:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years old
Successful background check and required training
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with insurance
Ability to work safely and respectfully in clients’ homes and communities
Compassion, reliability, and a desire to make a positive impact
Candidates for high‑acuity behavioral support must have one or more of the following:
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
Safety‑Care certification
PCM (Professional Crisis Management) certification
TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) or Mandt System training (or equivalent)
Documented experience managing aggressive and self injurious ASD presentations
Training in safe blocking and protective positioning
Competency in stair guarding and elopement interruption
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
Documented EpiPen administration training
Ability to follow structured behavior support approaches (BCBA/BSP frameworks)
Physical stamina appropriate for prolonged escalation cycles
