Leidy's Meat Cutter III in Souderton, Pennsylvania
The Meat Cutter III is an advanced role responsible for performing complex cutting and boning tasks with a high degree of accuracy and speed. May act as a trainer for less experienced staff. This role requires performing repetitive tasks, strong knife skills, knowledge of pork cuts, and the ability to meet yield and quality standards in a safe & efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
Execute expert-level deboning, trimming, and precision cutting of pork carcasses.
Train and mentor new or junior cutters.
Ensure production meets or exceeds efficiency and quality standards.
Monitor and adjust for yield improvements.
Perform basic troubleshooting of cutting equipment.
Use hand tools and powered equipment (saws, skinners, etc.) safely and efficiently.
Operate or work near automated machinery under supervision.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
Maintain clean and sanitized work area.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
Qualifications:
Ability to work in a production environment with fluorescent lights and climate variation.
Ability to make 8-10 cuts per minute.
3+ years of pork meat cutting experience in a processing plant.
Demonstrated expertise in all primal and sub-primal pork cuts.
Ability to train others and give constructive feedback.
Ability to take direction and work with others as part of a team.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Flexibility to changing duties, rotations and product requirements.
Good communications skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
Proficient with knives and cutting tools.
Understand yield optimization and cut specs.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
