Caterpillar is looking for a Category Buyer to join our procurement organization and help deliver maximum value across our supply network.

Your job duties may include…
Executing category strategies aligned to Senior Buyer and ELITE CPPD team
Identifying cost reduction, inventory optimization, and quality improvement opportunities while evaluating business proposals and risks
Acting as the main point of contact between Caterpillar and suppliers, ensuring alignment with production needs and capabilities
Monitoring, documenting, and managing supplier performance related to delivery, responsiveness, and production reliability
Supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, continuous process improvement, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and contracts through the use of procurement systems and tools
You will have…
A university degree or equivalent practical experience
Working knowledge of purchasing tasks, procurement processes, and contract compliance
Data analytics skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present business-related data to support decision-making
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly present information and collaborate effectively
The ability to build productive relationships across functions and with external suppliers
A proactive, analytical mindset with attention to detail and continuous improvement

Detail oriented project management experience
Experience with category management, strategic sourcing, or supplier relationship management
Basic understanding of negotiation principles and contract administration
Experience working with ERP or procurement systems
The ability to adapt communication and collaboration styles to different stakeholders and situations
